Tim is a Certified Energy Manager with more than 15 years’ local and international experience in technical, business and non-profit organisations. As an energy efficiency consultant, Tim has run projects ranging from grassroots eco initiatives through to energy audits, analysis, awareness and training for large corporates.
A lateral thinker with a flair for problem-solving, Tim brings a solid technical background and business experience, coupled with a passion for the environment, sustainability and true value creation.
Tim graduated cum laude with a National Higher Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.

Business Development Manager
Alistair brings solid project management experience to the IDM Solutions team, and a deep understanding of the interface of environmental and economic issues.
With a BTech (Forestry) from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, he has worked extensively in implementing and managing environmental, conservation, infrastructure and small business development projects.
Alistair has managed the strategic planning and implementation of several projects focused on sustainable natural resource-based enterprise development. He has extensive experience in training and capacity-building, enabling him to support our clients’ training needs on new systems and processes for energy management.

Dean combines strengths in practical, hands-on solutions, an innovative problem-solving approach, an analytical mind and close attention to detail.
He is highly experienced in analysis of complex data with a strong focus on energy and sustainability, and has worked extensively in equipment installation and maintenance, particularly in refrigeration. Processes and systems are his speciality, designing end-to-end process flows and training users in effective implementation.
The sustainability aspect of what we do – collecting and analysing data that enables rational decision-making, supports renewable resources and leads to cost savings, process improvements and long-term sustainable business.
Tim is a qualified architect with experience in a number of building types in South Africa, the United Kingdom and Canada.
He has a higher diploma in engineering and an MSc in architecture, where he studied advanced energy use in buildings, examining the viability of carbon neutral housing. Tim has completed a PhD in construction management, where his research considered technology in the built environment, using building information modelling as a tool for analysing buildings and coordinating the project teams.
